Circle
The
Burgess Circle met January 12,
2012 with 9 members present. The meeting was called to order by
Virginia Black, President, who opened the meeting in prayer. She
welcomed all members and thanked them for their participation. Everyone
enjoyed a delicious covered dish meal followed by a devotional entitled
"Uncertain Times" with the scripture coming from Luke 18 & 27.
Twelve visits were reported to shut ins. The minutes were read and
approved as read. The treasurer's report was given by Sharon Shoffner.
Dates were set to feed the Methodist Men. A baby shower was planned for
circle member, Barbara Honey, to be held January 15 at 2:00 in the
fellowship hall. A menu of light refreshments was planned for this.
The thank you note was read from the family that the circle helped for
Christmas and the note was very touching. Cards were sent to all sick
and bereaved. A donation will be made by the circle to the Love Fund in
memory of Ruth Phillips.
The next meeting will be held February 9, 2012.
